About the FP4YA Podcast — Show Stats & Mission
This page exists for one reason: transparency. We think it's worth being specific about what Financial Planning for Young Adults actually is — how much content we've published, what we cover, where you can listen, and what drives the work. If you've ever wondered whether FP4YA is the right resource for you, this page should answer that.
FP4YA is a free, independent podcast and resource hub dedicated to financial education for young adults. It is hosted by Skyler Fleming, a financial planner and CFP candidate who started the show to give people the jargon-free guidance he wished had existed earlier in his own life.

Why It Exists
Our Mission
The financial services industry has a jargon problem. Too much of what gets published is designed for people who already understand finance — not for someone trying to figure out whether they should have a Roth IRA or a traditional IRA, or how to think about their first paycheck, or whether they are saving enough. FP4YA exists to fill that gap.
The approach here is simple: treat listeners like smart adults who just have not had this explained to them well yet. Every topic is covered in plain language, with real examples, and without the assumption that you already know the terminology. The goal is not to make financial planning feel impressive. The goal is to make it feel doable.
The podcast and all the resources on this site are free because access to good financial information should not require a financial advisor fee or a subscription. Skyler started this project as the resource he wished had existed when he was getting started — and the commitment to keeping it honest, accessible, and jargon-free drives every episode.
